Large Women

Good September to you all.  I just posted my 2008 large women collection on etsy.  It is the first time I have put them to print.  I still have two and a dear friend Teri has two I can visit; oh and Cheryl in San Diego takes good care of one also. They come from her garden resides in Silverton, I think.  They were my first attempt at drawing full pictures of women.  I am almost ready to try again. Here are the two of them.

Oh my goodness, what if they pick me.

She twirls until she falls down and giggles

Good morning.  It has been too long since I posted.  Had a few shows, painted a few more pictures and all of a sudden it feels like fall.  We have been buying school items for Parker (my grandson's) kindergarten class.
So, this week I spent time in the studio (supposedly cleaning it) and voila, this painting showed up.  I am enjoying the layers.  Hope you do to.  It is 24 x 36".  My name is Bonnie Taylor Talbot and ipaintpictures.

Pretty Pretty Peony

Good Afternoon.  Today I am beginning a 15 in 15.  Seems a bit more realistic as the weather is so beautiful any given hour of the day.  My friend Haley came over and we picked a postcard of a painting and painted our own picture.  The card is a painting by Raoul Dufy "la vie en rose" 1931.  My painting became "pretty pretty peony" 2013.  It is 11 x 14 acrylic on canvas.

HOUSE #1

Good morning.  I have been in the studio working on houses.  This one is collage, stenciled, paint, transfer, stamps and lots of love.  More are coming.  Welcome #1.

Wednesday, May 1, 2013

It is Wednesday and I am almost ready to go to Cannon Beach for the 2013 spring unveiling.  I wanted to make a bright splash in Josephine's window so I painted this dress in corals and oranges.  It actually makes me want to dance.
Hope to see some of you there.
Enjoy!

WEEK 2

Tea pots and tea has often been a subject of my paintings.  My sister always brings lemons for her tea and I love pretty tea pots.  So, I guess these two are kind of a family portrait.
These are 11 x 14 acrylic on canvas paintings.

DAY 4 waiting for flowers

I love the shape of this vase.  It is so yummie round and makes me want to fill it with all kinds of flowers.  So, the title "waiting for flowers" makes sense to me.  Today it is all about shape and color.
This is a 12" x 16" acrylic on canvas.

DAY 3 Fresh Cream

We were cleaning out the shed last weekend and I had a box of enamelware that was purchased in France.  This particular one was in the first painting I did after returning from my first trip.  I was thrilled to have such a perfect piece.  And now, 16 years later, I am painting it again.  What joy to remember that time while painting.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

Good Afternoon
This week I am painting again.  I saw a wonderful chair and mirror in a design book and thought perhaps I might be able to paint them.  And, then the "mirror, mirror" came into play.  No, not the fairest of them all; but maybe asking about joy and laughter.  Who looks in the mirror that much anyway?

DAY 1 painting 2

 DAY 1, painting 2
Almost every day I go by the Blue Heron paper plant and think about painting some pictures of it.  So, finally, last week, I took pictures to see what might be interesting.  I adore all the curves, lines, windows and cat walks.  I want to see what the inside looks like too. This painting is 12" x 16" acrylic on canvas.
Enjoy!

DAY I painting One

Day 1 Painting One
Time for round 2 of 30 paintings in 30 days. Made it to 20 last time.  Let's see what happens this time.
While looking through postcards and pictures I have taken of Paris flea market chairs I found this beautiful light purple chair.  It looked like something I might like to paint.  So, I began to paint and it seemed like entirely too many layers later it almost looked like that chair.  And then I took the scrub brush to it and like it much better.
Enjoy

DAY 27, paintings #19 & 20

DAY 27, paintings #19 & 20

So today I took a trip to the south of France and Cezanne was my teacher.  It is amazing how much there is to learn from art book pictures.  Of course my colors are a little different and the houses might get new names. I am so intrigued by landscapes.
The first one "she opened up her eyes" to a most wonderous view. How did she get here?
The second one "just a little quiet" is from the area in France where Cezanne painted quite a few landscapes. I should like to travel there one day . . . even if only in films.

DAY 24, painting #18

DAY 24, painting #18
Taxes got in the way of painting yesterday.  And now I am all done.  This morning I was greeted with the most beautiful pink sunrise that brought a huge smile to my face. I only hope to catch the joy it brought me.

DAY 22, painting #17

Day 22, painting #17
Sometime around 40 I was introduced to Martha Stewart, Tracy Porter, Shabby Chic and Trisha Guild.  They each taught me something about the art of entertaining.  I started experimenting with colorful plates and glasses, then all white formal settings, then lots of candles with tulle and sparkles. And after all this time, I like to mix and match with anything I have in the house.  It was like these women said PLAY with your food.  So I have a rule...

DAY 21, painting #16

Day 21, painting #16 . . . oh my goodness . . .
I like chairs.  I have blue chairs, green chairs, red chairs, black chairs, beige chairs, leather chairs and even a couple of soft yellow chairs.  So it is not surprising that I often paint chairs and not just on canvas but the ones in our home.  Come fall I always seem to want to paint one coral and in the spring lime seems to make sense.  Thank goodness for spray paint and do overs.
Enjoy!

Day 20, painting #15

Day 20, painting #15
I am so glad for soft pink narcissus.  They make me smile during the day and I believe that we are entering spring time every time I look at them. Thank you dear flowers.
Enjoy!

DAY 19 painting #14

Still lifes seem like a contradiction to me.  At least my life never seems still.  Yet, so many paintings are called still lifes.  They are just a one second stop in the action around them that takes a bit longer than one second to paint.
Enjoy!

DAY 18 painting #13

I taught a class today to 4 lovely ladies and while preparing for it I was looking at Matisse still lifes.  I could not resist painting this one. It does not have a title yet.
Enjoy!

DAY 16 painting #12

This morning the painting started out with a vase made by a woman who had just fallen in love.  It is a beautiful vase and I will use it in another painting.  About the 4th layer of painting I changed the design and it felt like I was visiting Tahiti in the impressionist era.  I brought my own hot chocolate bowl.
This is 12" x 16" acrylic on canvas.

DAY 15 just how still do you want

Sometimes ideas for paintings just don't jump to the forefront of my brain.  When that happens I have lots of impressionists to choose from. A Matisse still life is my favorite.  This painting is representative of one he did in 1918.  Of course the colors are different and I used a jar instead of a glass of water, etc.
However, that being said, I see painters in galleries painting paintings by the masters.  Their task is to copy the painting and by doing so they will learn the techniques. And on days like today, I want to do just that.  I am unwilling to use the oils though.  I still prefer the acrylic and hair dryer method.
Enjoy!

DAY 14

When the sun is shining, when I am up before 6:30 and when I remember to look, there are rainbows on most of my walls from my chandelier.  I am always reminded of the movie Pollyana.  And, if truth be told, I wanted to be like her growing up.
This painting is 12" x 24", acrylic on canvas.

DAY 13

DAY 13, painting #9. When I was a young girl, I had an old clear vitamin bottle with a rubber stopper filled with old paste jewelry pieces (and one amber like bee from cracker jacks).  I would put it up to the sun and spin it to see all the sparkly.  It was and continues to be magic for me.
Enjoy this little 9 x 12" piece for today.

First of 30

I did not realize that I did not put up the first of 30 days image.  I love Monet's roses.

DAY 10

What I am realizing is that a painting a day might be a bit of a stretch given it takes me so long to actually finish a painting; then like it.  So I missed yesterday but have one today.  One thing I know for sure: it will probably be many more colors before it leaves the studio.
Enjoy!

DAY 8 Pretty as a Picture

I missed DAY 6 so I finished one painting and made a second to compensate.  The madonna "I hope you dance" is a commission for Jole that I have been working on for a few weeks.
The "pretty as a picture" is more about colors for me.  I am in love with rose, the golden brand liquid green gold and a hint of orange.
Enjoy!

DAY 7 Home at last

Ok, I admit, I did not paint yesterday, Day 6.  I believe I spent the day at a flea market and on the couch catching up on all my taped tv shows.  It was luxurious. And, the girl scout cookies showed up.

So, here is Day 7, HOME at last.  I paint a lot of homes as I have moved 65 times in my life.  No, I was not an army brat, just moved a lot.  Must be some gypsy blood in my family. Enjoy!

Day 5 of 30 Pears

I remember one year when all I wanted to paint was pears in every color imaginable.  So I painted this little 6 x 12 piece today.  It seems to be so often just about the color.  Thank you Bridget for helping me spell yummilicious. I do believe it is a made up word.

Apron

Good Afternoon.  This morning I made an apron. It was fun to sew again.  She watches over me and I still have to put in the pockets for all the "stuff" I carry in them.
Now I need to paint my next piece of daily art.

Day 4

DAY 4 of 30 pictures.  This one is only 5" x 5" and I did a close up of my newest chandeliers with a nest of eggs.  The colors are as bright as the sun in our sky today.  Enjoy!

DAY 3 of the 30 days of paintings.  This one is 8" x 10" and called "sometimes the silver lining is gold".  Enjoy! and Happy Valentines Day to you all too.

Wednesday, February 13, 2013

Yesterday I began my 30 paintings in 30 days due to the inspiration of Annie Farrow Salness.  My girlfriend Betsy Bensen said the best way to post is to first put the images on this blog then link to my facebook i paint pictures page.  Ok ladies, Day 2. "Her tea towels come from Paris". 9" x 12" acrylic on canvas.  Here is a close up and the entire painting.  Enjoy!
